HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – The Oswego State field hockey team remained perfect in 2018 with a victory at Elmira College on Wednesday afternoon. It was the first trial on the road for the Lakers while improving to 11-1 in their last 12 meetings against the Soaring Eagles, dating back nearly a decade to Oct. 1, 2008.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Alysia DeMichael was the first of the Lakers to score. DeMichael's goal, which came just under five minutes into the first half, was assisted by senior Katie Reynolds.
- Another freshman, Jenna Rogers was able to direct a hard shot from the left of the circle to convert on a penalty corner and tally her first-collegiate goal at 13:46. Rogers' goal was assisted by Reynolds for her second of the game.
- DeMichael would strike again in the second half, as she was able to redirect a Lacey Woite shot in front of the cage. This is DeMichael's fifth goal on her young collegiate career, and she now leads the Lakers in total goals.
- Less than one minute after the Lakers' third goal, Reynolds was able to sweep a Woite pass into the left corner of the cage. Reynolds now has three goals on the season. Woite's assist represents her fourth of the season.
- Rogers would tally her second goal of the day with eight minutes remaining in the contest.
- Goalkeeper Joanna Christman made two saves during her 70 minutes in the cage.
- The Lakers owned advantages in shots (24-4), shots-on-goal (20-2) and corners (8-3).
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will now have a little more than a week off to prepare for a trip to Scranton, Pa. to face Marywood University at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14.
