Lakers Downed by Wolves in Final Game of Season

Keuka, N.Y. - Oswego State Field Hockey lost their final game of the season to Keuka College 3-1. Alyssa DeMichael provided the lone Laker goal, her 7th of the season late in the 4th quarter.

 

THE BASICS

  • Final Score: Keuka 3, Oswego 1 

  • Location: Keuka College, Keuka, N.Y.

  • Records: Keuka 5-9 (2-5), Oswego 8-8 (2-4)

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

 

  • Keuka scored first just three minutes into the game.

  • Erica Scheblein saved a Keuka penalty shot late in the 2nd quarter to keep the Wolves from extending their lead. 

  • At the half, the score stayed 1-0 after the Lakers defense picked it up after allowing an early goal.

  • The offensive pressure by both teams limited each other's chances by keeping the game in the mid field.

  • Keuka extended their lead to 2-0 with 10:45 left in the third quarter.

  • Keuka added another, creating a three-goal lead with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

  • With five minutes remaining in the game, Alyssa DeMichael scored her 7th goal of the season,she was assisted by Kaitlyn Mastracco.

  • But it was too little too late as the Lakers dropped the game 3-1.
