OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State softball team faced off against SUNY Brockport. The Lakers lost the doubleheader and Brockport's offense proved to be the deciding factor in this series. The Lakers will return to the field tomorrow for their senior day against Geneseo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The game went scoreless until the third inning.
- Brockport scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 3-0 lead over Oswego.
- Oswego immediately responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning.
- In the third inning Brianna Lomanaco, Tai Smith, Aleah Yaizzo, and Taylor Dubois all crossed home plate, earning the Lakers the 4-3 lead.
- Brockport tied the game in the fourth inning off of a single and took the lead after another single brought a runner in.
- In the fifth inning, Brockport homered to take a 6-4 lead over Oswego.
- Brockport's lead grew in the sixth inning after they put three more runs on the board, resulting in a 9-4 loss in the first game of the double header.
Game 2
- Oswego opened up the scoring with a Zoe Mennig double down left center field to bring in Smith for a run.
- Brockport hit a solo homer in the second inning to tie the game at one.
- The Lakers quickly regained the lead after Samantha Morgan scored on a fielding error by Brockport.
- In the third inning Smith singled to right field and got the RBI after Morgan scored her second run of the contest, Lakers lead 3-1.
- Yaizzo hit a single and Morgan scored as a result.
- Dubois closed out the inning with a single, helping Smith cross home plate, this put the Lakers up 5-1.
- Brockport responded with a strong fifth inning putting six runs on the board to take a 7-5 lead.
- The Golden Eagles added one more run to their lead in the sixth inning.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning Oswego's Mennig hit a double towards left field and Smith scored her third run of the contest as a result.
- In the seventh inning Brockport added three more runs to their lead to make it a 11-6 game.
Final Stats
- Smith batted 3-4, scored three runs, and had three RBIs.
- Mennig batted 2-4 and had three RBIs.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers take on SUNY Geneseo at Oswego, N.Y in a doubleheader. The contests are set for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday April 30.
