OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Softball team played against SUNY Cortland in a double header this afternoon. Despite two home runs and a triple from the Lakers in the second game, the Red Dragons down one in the seventh inning scored six unanswered runs, taking the win 9-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Lakers got off to a hot start as Tai Smith reached base, Higgins batted the runner in to give the Green and Gold an early lead in the first inning.
- The Red Dragons responded with a home run in the second inning, tying the game at one a piece.
- Cortland scored five runs in the third inning to go up 6-1, then going on to score seven more unanswered runs throughout the contest.
Game 2

Cortland got out to an early three-run lead in the first inning.

Oswego's Samantha Morgan hit a solo home run in the second inning to bring them within two runs (3-1).

The Lakers scored in the third inning after Zoe Mennig hit a two run homer to left field to tie the game up at three a piece.

Oswego took the lead after a Mennig triple to right center field, bringing in T. Smith for the score, the Lakers took their first lead of the contest, 4-3 in the fifth inning.

Cortland mounted a comeback, scoring six unanswered runs in the seventh inning.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers take on Clarkson University in a double header at Potsdam, N.Y. The contests are set for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
