Oswego, NY - Three Oswego State Lakers student-athletes were recognized this week in the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball Team, released by the College Sports Communicators. Junior outside hitter Cara Simplicio, senior middle blocker Grace Taylor, and senior middle blocker Georgia Farry were all selected for their performances on and off the court.

To be eligible for this recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through at least two full semesters while also participating in 90% of their team's sets or starting 66% of their team's matches during the season. 

Simplicio is a wellness management major from Victor, NY who finished second on the team with 146 kills, led the team with 35 service aces, and accumulated 153 digs during the 2023 season. 

Taylor is a wellness management major from South Glens Falls, NY who finished second on the team with 48 blocks and accumulated 21 service aces this past season.

Farry is a geology major out of Hamburg, NY who accumulated 151 kills and 57 blocks during the 2023 season. Both of which stats led the Lakers squad this season.
