CORTLAND, NY – The Oswego State Softball team fell to the Cortland Red Dragons in their doubleheader regular season finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1

The Lakers scored their only run of the game in the top of the first, when Fiona Higgins hit a home run to right field.

Cortland had a three run home run in the bottom of the second inning, and took a 3-1 lead.

The Red Dragons also had a two run home run in the bottom of the fifth to go up 5-1. They added an additional run in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI single.

Both pitchers, Higgins and Cortland's Karlee Weeden, threw complete games.
Game 2

Cortland scored in the bottom of the first, but the Lakers tied the game at one in the top of the second inning, off an Ellie Mahoney RBI single.

The Red Dragons took the lead in the bottom of the second inning, going up 2-1.

Cortland continued to consistently score throughout the game, starting with two runs in the fourth inning.

They added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth, and an additional insurance run in the sixth inning that ended the game.

After scoring their lone run in the second inning, Oswego had one hit for the rest of the game, which was a single by Samantha Morgan, who ends the season with a team high .337 batting average and .929 OPS.
