HOW IT HAPPENED

The game had a slow first build up in the first 15, neither side gained anything and were in a tossup, with the Lakers making frequent substitutions to try and angle the offense.

The Pioneers played slow offensively, slowly but surely eroding away the Lakers' defense over the last 3 periods.

At 36:29 Bryleigh Beauchat assisted by Kate McNally, squeezed through a gap in the Pioneers defense for a goal.

Period 4 heated up with the Lakers bringing a new offensive strategy and a back and forth with neither side willing to concede.

Despite the Lakers repelling three shots in 3 minutes of OT, the Pioneers were able to push through the Laker's defense to score, ending the game at 2-1.
