OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field Hockey hosted their third home contest of the season this evening. After a three hour heat index delay, the Lakers faced off against the St. John Fisher Cardinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The quarter started with a penalty corner attempt just 39 seconds into the contest for the Cardinals.

At 3:15, the Lakers took the lead with a goal from Ellie Kazel with an assist form Erin Schaefer.

The first quarter ended with four shots and three penalty corners by the Lakers, the game went into the second quarter 1-0.

Just two minutes and 52 seconds into the second quarter, the Cardinals tied the contest at one.

Fisher didn't stop there, they controlled the rest of the quarter, with Oswego not getting a shot and they put up four.

The third quarter was a mid-field battle between teams as one shot and one penalty corner were the only stats put up in the 15 minutes.

Just a minute and 22 seconds into the fourth quarter, the Lakers were assessed a green card and the Cardinals took advantage of that scoring just 32 seconds later.

Oswego scored to tie the contest at two's with a goal by Maddie Pflume.

With 2:06 remaining the Lakers were assessed another penalty, this time a yellow card.

Again the Cardinals took advantage and score with 1:37 remaining to hold on to the victory.

The Lakers will head on the road for their first game away from home this season. Oswego will take on Ithaca College on September 8th at 4:00PM.
