OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego field hockey team was in action this Wednesday at SUNY Cortland for a post season game. After qualifying for the SUNYAC Playoffs, the Lakers drew the number one seed, Red Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers were up against a strong Red Dragons team that is currently ranked 8
th in the nation for NCAA Division III field hockey.
Oswego held the Red Dragons at bay until the 11
th minute of the first quarter when Cortland broke through with their first goal of the game. They went on to add two more goals in the quarter for a 3-0 lead after one.
The Lakers started the second quarter with energy trying to fight off Cortland and only allowed one goal in the second.
Sam Krautheim turned away 6 shots in goal to keep the lead 4-0 heading into half time.
In the second half, the Red Dragons picked up the pressure constantly testing the Lakers defense. They were able to add 1 goal in the third and 2 in the fourth for a total of 7 on the day. In goal Krautheim added 24 saves to her total for the season.
For the second time this season, the Red Dragons took down the Lakers in Cortland.
