OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego field hockey team was in action this Wednesday at SUNY Cortland for a post season game. After qualifying for the SUNYAC Playoffs, the Lakers drew the number one seed, Red Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
The Lakers were up against a strong Red Dragons team that is currently ranked 8^th in the nation for NCAA Division III field hockey.

Oswego held the Red Dragons at bay until the 11^th minute of the first quarter when Cortland broke through with their first goal of the game. They went on to add two more goals in the quarter for a 3-0 lead after one.

The Lakers started the second quarter with energy trying to fight off Cortland and only allowed one goal in the second. Sam Krautheim turned away 6 shots in goal to keep the lead 4-0 heading into half time.

In the second half, the Red Dragons picked up the pressure constantly testing the Lakers defense. They were able to add 1 goal in the third and 2 in the fourth for a total of 7 on the day. In goal Krautheim added 24 saves to her total for the season.

For the second time this season, the Red Dragons took down the Lakers in Cortland.
