OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Softball team hosted the Potsdam Bears this afternoon for their last regular season matchup. The Lakers split games with Potsdam. Oswego took the first game 2-0, while Potsdam took the second game 3-2.
The Lakers honored seniors Christina Kania, Ellie Mahoney, Marrissa Rodgers and Chelsea Sellars.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Jenna Mills singled to center field bringing in Lily Fanea.
In the bottom of the sixth, Higgins doubled to left center bringing in run number two for the Lakers.
On the mound Higgins limited the Bears to three hits in seven innings.
Game 2:
In the top of the second, a single brought in Potsdam's first run of the game.
The Bears brought in two runs from a single in the top of the third. In the bottom, Maria Lutz reached first on an infield error and Kira Wright singled to third base. Higgins hit a two run double, putting the Lakers on the board but trailing 3-2.
In the bottom of the sixth with two outs, a Potsdam runner attempted to steal home but Mahoney was able to get the out to prevent another run.
The Lakers were not able to push a run across in the bottom of the seventh and fell in game two to the Bears.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Oswego State Softball team ended their season at 10-22 overall and 5-13 in conference play. The Lakers send congratulations and thanks to the graduating seniors!
