OSWEGO, NY - The Lakers hosted the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons on Tuesday afternoon in a windy Oswego, NY.
GAME 1:
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ava Thys for the Red Dragons started the game with a leadoff single but nothing came out of it as Gabriela Milazzo went 1-2-3 after the base knock.
- Although Oneonta failed to capitalize in the first, the second inning was a different story. A single followed by a double from Abigail Silliman would tally her 6th RBI of the year and the first run of this contest.
- Oneonta kept hot in the top of the third as an error by Shortstop Grace Dipalma would lead to the Red Dragons second run of the game.
- In the 7th, Mackenzie Carlson was in scoring position when Gabriela Millazzo singled to score Carlson. The score was now 2-1. The game would ultimately end as Onenota's newest addition in Freshman Tanner Smith would put the game away. Smith pitched the full 7 innings letting up only 4 hits and striking out 4.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tatum Passanno would get the scoring started for both squads as she doubled into center field. She would score Maya Nelsen who pinch ran for Julia Serena's single. The Freshman Kayla Kean would then send a deep shot over the fence in left field. Oneonta would be up 3-0 after the RBIs by Passano and Kean.
- Gianna DeGonza hit her first college homerun over left field. Oswego closed the gap to just 2 as the score was now, 3-1.
- Maria Lutz would shut things down in the top of the 5th which would open the door for the Lakers to make their move to fight back in this one. They did just that as they scored 3 runs in the bottom of the frame. This came from a Lillian Hagerty single which scored Grace DiPalma. Ellie Mahoney would single to then score Haggerty. Oneonta's Pitcher, Angelina Scalere would then walk in a run which would give Oswego the lead, 4-3.
- Ava Thys would single followed by an error from Oswego that would score 2. Julia Serena would keep Oneonta hot in the sixth and would double to pick up yet another RBI for this squad. The Sophomore Emily Brown would pick up a 2-bagger of her own to put a cap to the scoring for the Red Dragons. A productive and efficient inning for Oneonta would let them lead, 9-4.
- Oswego, trying to get back in those one, would tighten the gap to only 2 in the bottom of the sixth. Kylie Detz singled to score Grace DiPalma. An error from the Red Dragons would score Detz to make the score 9-6.
- In the last inning, the Red Dragons would start off with a sac fly scoring 1. With 2 runners on base, Jaime Cardello would homer to left field to make the score 13-6 going into the last half inning of the contest
- Emily Brown would strike out the first two batters she faced and close out the inning as Oswego went scoreless. Oneonta would sweep the 2-game series as they won, 13-6.
