HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
Oswego struck early and often, scoring in every inning. Center fielder Kira Wright set the tone in the top of the first, reaching on a strikeout and wild pitch before stealing second and racing home on a throwing error. She finished 2-for-4 with two runs, an RBI, and two stolen bases.

The Lakers exploded in the second inning with a three-run burst highlighted by a two-RBI double from Kylie Detz, who went 2-for-3 on the day. Ellie Mahoney added the biggest blow in the third, launching a three-run homer to left – her first of the season – to stretch the lead to 7-1.

The fourth inning saw Oswego tack on five more runs, capitalizing on multiple SUNY Canton defensive miscues. Gianna DeGonza went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base, while Mahoney finished with three RBIs.

In the circle, Maria Lutz (7-10) earned the win, striking out nine and allowing just three hits and two earned runs over five innings. She kept the Kangaroos off balance all game, recording five flyouts and a groundout while issuing only two walks.

Game 2
The Lakers jumped out to an early lead with a four-run first inning and never looked back, cruising behind a complete game shutout from Chelsea Sellars and a relentless offensive effort that racked up 13 hits.

Sellars was sharp in the circle, tossing 6.0 innings of three-hit ball with nine strikeouts and no walks. She also helped her own cause at the plate, driving in two runs with a single during the first-inning rally.

Offensively, Oswego was paced by Ellie Mahoney, who drove in four runs on a 2-for-4 day, including a two-RBI single in both the first and sixth innings. Lillian Haggerty added a 3-for-4 performance, scoring three times and stealing two bases. Mattison Phinney also stayed hot, going 3-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base, and a hit-by-pitch.

The Lakers added insurance runs in the sixth, highlighted by Mahoney's clutch single and a RBI base hit by Kylie Detz, who finished 2-for-4.
