How it Happened
The Lakers kept Cortland off the scoreboard in a defensive first quarter despite facing three penalty corners and four shots.
Sam Krautheim made the quarter's lone save on a Cortland attempt at 11:15, and the quarter ended scoreless.
SUNY Oswego spent the second quarter under sustained pressure, with Krautheim making seven saves as Cortland generated repeated penalty corners. Cortland broke through at 30:00 on Gabriella Gemelli's goal off an assist from Tori Peterson, leaving the Lakers down 1-0 at halftime.
The Lakers spent much of the third quarter defending Cortland pressure, with Krautheim making eight saves as Cortland generated 13 shots and seven penalty corners. Cortland made it 2-0 at 32:33 when Madison Oliver scored off Kaylee Hughen's assist, and SUNY Oswego entered the fourth quarter trailing by two.
