How it Happened
In the final game of the regular season campaign, Lakers goalie Sam Krautheim and the defense in front of her were tested to the maximum. The Red Dragons had several high danger opportunities in the first quarter, but the Oswego defense was up to the task, blocking several attempts, while Krautheim made a lone save.

Oneonta eventually found the scoreboard with six minutes left in the second quarter, as Alexandra Howell scored her first of the game, putting the Red Dragons up 1-0, but the Lakers would hold strong into halftime, not allowing another one.

In the third quarter, Howell struck again, scoring her second of the game, giving the Red Dragons a two-goal advantage heading to the fourth and final quarter.

Oswego's fourth-quarter play was the best of the entire game; the Lakers held most of the offensive possession time, while also outshooting the Red Dragons 3-1. The best chance for the Lakers to get on the board came on a corner with five minutes left in the game. Meg Kuebler got a shot off in the slot, which set off a mad scramble for the ball, but the Lakers could not capitalize.

Oneonta held strong against the relentless Lakers' attack for the remainder of the game, solidifying the win for the Red Dragons. Oswego State was outshot by the Red Dragons 11-3, but Krauthiem stopped nine to keep the Lakers in the game.

What's Next
The Lakers will have some time to rest before heading into their rematch with Salisbury University in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.
