HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers opened up scoring with a pinch play by
Lillian Haggerty.
Ryin Perico was on third and the sacrifice bunt by Haggerty got her across the plate.
Oswego added on with a big second inning.
Mackenzie Carlson started it off with a single followed by a
Delaney Wiley single of her own.
Kira Wright would send Carlson home with a double to left field. Wiley would then score by
Grace DiPalma hitting an infield single.
Kayla Doerre then singled to score Wright. It was a hit party as
Emma Budzinski singled that scored DiPalma. Haggerty would then reach on a fielder's choice and with good baserunning, Perico scored. The monstrous inning from the Lakers had them up by 6.
Alyssa Budzinski would continue to dominate on the pitching side of things, striking out the side in the bottom of the third. The Lakers extended their lead in the top of the fifth with another
Emma Budzinski RBI.
Oswego had another chance to add insurance as
Emma Budzinski doubled in the top of the seventh. Although nothing came out of it, the Lakers finished the job and the shutout in the bottom of the seventh, winning 7-0.
Game two of the afternoon was called due to weather.
WIN -
Alyssa Budzinski (3-0)
LOSS - Savannah Persun (0-3)
