New Paltz, NY - The Oswego State Softball Team had their season come to an end in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament, losing at the hands of the Buffalo State Bengals, 8-2. Earlier this season, the Lakers split a double header with the Bengals in Buffalo, NY.

How it Happened
Buffalo State scored the first 6 runs of the game, 2 in the first on an RBI double from Erin Paolilli, and 4 runs in the second inning thanks to a single, double, and sacrifice fly.
The Lakers earned base runners in the 2
nd, and 4
th inning before scoring their first run of the game on an at-bat from DeGonza where she reached on an error by first base sending home
Emma Budzinski. Buffalo State was able to answer the Lakers in the bottom of the inning.
Oswego pushed across another run in the top of the 5
th. After a walk by DiPalma and Wright,
Delaney Wiley singled a run home to make the score 7-2. Once again however, Buffalo State answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning.
In both the 6
th and 7
th inning, Oswego has 2 base runners on but were left stranded giving us our final score of 8-2.
On the mound,
Alyssa Budzinski got the start going 2 complete innings and she was relieved by Gabby Milazzo who slowed down the Bengals in 4 complete innings.
Season Recap
The Lakers made program history this season, starting the season off 12-0, which was the best start to a season in Oswego Softball history. They also made the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time in six seasons finishing with an overall record of 18-9 as the 6
th seed in the conference.
