Oswego, NY - The SUNYAC selects Oswego's
Alana Iacovissi as its 2026 Women's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year. This award is nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors.
In her senior season, Iacovissi was named to the All-SUNYAC First Team and she also took home Goalkeeper of the Year honors for the conference. Iacovissi completed her second consecutive season starting every game in net for the Lakers, recording a 13-4 record, a 6.57 GAA, and a .481 save percentage. She totaled 88 saves in over 850 minutes in net for Oswego. In 2026, Iacovissi ranked first in the SUNYAC in goals against average, and third in save percentage. The team was No. 1 after going undefeated (9-0) in regular season conference play and advanced to the SUNYAC championship game.
Iacovissi graduated as an adolescent education major with a 3.86 overall GPA. She was named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll the last three years.
In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore.
The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
