ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The SUNY Oswego field hockey team improved to 2-0 on the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Nazareth, 3-1, at NLPA Field.

How it Happened
The Lakers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as
Harlie Giliberti scored just 2:09 into the contest to give Oswego an early 1-0 advantage. The Lakers carried the lead into the second quarter before
Sophia Prianti doubled the advantage at 17:33, scoring off an assist from
Kara Malejs.
Oswego continued to control the game in the third quarter, with
Camila Gallego finding the back of the cage at 41:34. Malejs picked up her second assist of the afternoon on the goal, giving the Lakers a 3-0 lead.
Nazareth got on the board early in the fourth quarter when Lily Kunzman scored at 52:02, cutting the Oswego led to 3-1. The Lakers' defense held strong down the stretch, including a defensive save by Julie Alvey with just over seven minutes remaining, to preserve the victory.
