Stephanie Grimm was hired as the head coach for the Laker men’s and women’s cross country teams and the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams in 2011.
In 2013, Grimm coached the team to 4th place finishes in thier first two meets. The women's team was able to nab first at their opening meet and fourth at their second meet as well.
In 2012, the Laker women finished 25th out of 39 teams at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships with 673 points compared to the Laker men, who tied for 26th out of 44 squads with 770 points. During the 2012-13 track and field seasons, she coached SUNYAC outdoor 800-meter runner-up and NCAA Division III Top-30 finisher Katie Bott.
In 2011, the Oswego State men erased more than 80 points from the 2010 team total to finish four points out of fifth place in sixth at the SUNYAC Championships, while the Oswego State women placed eighth. Grimm coached Dylan Hardwick, who placed 27th out of 272 runners at the regional meet to earn All-Region honors. Two weeks earlier, Hardwick earned 13th place and Second Team All-SUNYAC honors at the SUNYAC Championships to become the first Laker male harrier to receive all-conference honors since 2005.
Grimm joined the Oswego State staff after having served as a cross country and track and field graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg University (PA), where she worked with cross country All-American Rose Mascoli. Grimm also developed and implemented training programs for the women’s middle-distance squad, recruited female middle-distance and distance student-athletes, and assisted in practice and meet management.
Grimm earned her Bachelor of Science degree in leisure and sports studies in May 2010 at Kutztown University (PA), where she was a member of the 2009 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship team that placed 14th, provisionally qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship in the mile (5:01.48), and competed at the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship in the distance medley relay as the 1200-meter leg. She was a two-time U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Cross Country and a one-time USTFCCCA Track and Field All-Academic honoree.
Grimm earned her Master of Science degree in sport management from East Stroudsburg University in December 2011.
