Dan Jones

  • Title
    Men's Ice Hockey Goalie Coach

Dan Jones joins the Oswego State men’s ice hockey staff as the program’s Goaltending Coach, returning to his alma mater after graduating from Oswego State in 2013.

Jones brings a diverse coaching and player-development background to the Lakers. He has spent the past eight seasons coaching at CNS High School and has also gained valuable experience working with the Syracuse Stars and the Cortland Red Dragons. Across each of those roles, Jones has developed a strong reputation for teaching, communication, goaltender development, and helping student-athletes maximize their potential both on and off the ice.

In addition to his coaching experience, Jones is the owner of Pro Minded, a sports psychology company focused on helping athletes strengthen the mental side of performance. His background in performance psychology will provide an added resource for Oswego State’s goaltenders as they develop the confidence, preparation habits, focus, and resilience required to perform consistently at a high level.

Jones also serves as a special education teacher at CNS, where his experience as an educator has strengthened his ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and adapt his teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each athlete.

As a former Laker, Jones brings a deep understanding of the tradition, expectations, and pride associated with Oswego State hockey. In his role with the program, he will oversee the development of the Lakers’ goaltenders while contributing to practice preparation, video analysis, individual skill development, mental performance, and the overall growth of the goaltending group.
