Oswego, N.Y. – Tori Trovato of the women’s ice hockey team has been named the Oswego Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 9, 2014.
 
The Lakers had an impressive 2-0 weekend on the road against Cortland.
 
Trovato was a huge part of the weekend; earning two shutouts between the pipes. The Lakers dominated the Red Dragons on Friday with a 3-0 win as Trovato stopped 16 shots on net. On Saturday, the Lakers proved themselves again with a 2-0 win, as Trovato saved 15 shots in the outing.
 
The sophomore now has a team-best four shutouts and improved her season record to 5-2-0 after the weekend. Trovato owns a team leading goals against average, allowing just 0.85 goals per outing in her seven appearances. 
 
Oswego will return to the ice at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday when it travels to take on the Pioneers of Utica College.
