OSWEGO, N.Y. - Kendall Appelbaum of the women's ice hockey team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on December 7, 2014.
Appelbaum nabbed four points in a two-win road series at Neumann University this weekend.
On friday's game, the sophomore helped Oswego get off to a quick start, scoring a power-play gaol just 1:29 into the first. She later notched another power-play goal, scoring at the 6:40 mark of the third period. This goal would prove to be the game winner as the Lakers defeated Neumann 4-1. In Saturday's game, Appelbaum played the role of facilitator, recording two assists in the team's 3-2 victory against the Knights.
Women's hockey will be on break over the holiday season, returning to action at 4 p.m. on January 9 when they take on Plymouth State in the first game of the Doubletree Ice Hockey Classic hosted by Saint Michael's College.
