Emily Lotito, of the Women's Swimming and Diving squad had an unreal month of January, winning 12 events. Including three at Potsdam, two against Roberts Wesleyan, one against Cortland and two victories at the Buffalo State, Medaille Tri-Meet.
Lotito started off strong, at Buffalo State in a tri-meet with Medaille. The Mount Airy, Maryland native won the Women's 500-Yard Freestyle, finishing in a time of 5:53.33 as well as the 1000-Yard Freestyle with a finishing time of 12:02.35, in this race, Lotito finished 23 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
Continuing her dominance against Cortland on January 18th, the Freshman won the 100-Yard Breastroke, finishing in 1:14.20. The team of
Alexia Lemus,
Anna Baker, Lotito, and
Jayna Laferriere won the Women 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, combining to finish in 1:49.21.
In Rochester, Lotito won both the 50-Yard (34.62) and 100-Yard (1:15.02) breaststroke. On top of these two victories, she won the 1000-Yard Freestyle, finishing at 11:52.27. The squad of
Maura Moochler, Lotito, Abby Hinman and Lemus took first in the 200-Yard Medley Relay, finishing in 2:00.83.
With three wins in Potsdam, Lotito finished the month off strong. She won the 100-Yard Breastroke (1:15.12) and the 200-Yard Breastroke (2:41.54).
Lotito didn't stop there as she also took first place in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with teammates Moochler, Himan and Lemus with a finish of 1:59.09.
