OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Audrey Burbidge of the women's soccer team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Nov. 1, 2015.
Burbidge led the No. 6 Lakers to victory over the third-seeded Geneseo in the SUNYAC quarterfinals. The freshman midfielder assisted on the first goal of the game in the 41st minute to give Oswego the 1-0 lead.
In the 83rd minute of the win-or-go-home game, the Cazenovia, N.Y. native netted a goal from five yards out. The score gave the Lakers a 2-1 lead, which would hold over the final seven minutes of play.
Burbidge played very aggressively in the game, recording three other shots-on-goal.
Oswego will head to Oneonta to play the No. 2 Red Dragons in the SUNYAC semifinals beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
