OSWEGO, N.Y. – Riley Synan of the women's swimming and diving team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 7, 2016.

Synan’s performance throughout the day was crucial to clinching the Lakers’ second-place finish. The Belchertown, Mass. native started off the afternoon helping Oswego place third in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 27.33 seconds in the penultimate leg.

Individually, it was the freshman who had a good day, earning the Lakers 25 points. Synan took third in the 100-yard freestyle before placing second in the 200-yard individual medley.

Women's swimming and diving will head to the SUNYAC Championships next as the team travels to Erie Community College to participate on Wednesday.
