Grace Rinaldi of the field hockey team was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 4.

The Pittsford native had two goals during Thursday’s afternoon matchup against Houghton College at Laker Turf Stadium. Rinaldi’s first goal was scored at 31:15, which tied the game at one.

The senior’s second goal of the game came with only 1.2 seconds left in regulation play, which sent the Lakers into overtime. Rinaldi’s score eventually helped the Lakers to a 3-2 overtime victory over Houghton College to open their season with a win for the first time since the 2009 season.

Rinaldi leads the team in goals (2), minutes played (145), and shots on goal (1.00) through the first two games of the season.
