Colin Greenseich of the men’s cross country team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 2.

Greenseich’s 12^th-place finish paced the Lakers to second-place overall at the Geneseo-Mike Woods Invitational at Letchworth State Park on Saturday.

His time of 25:42.0 breaks the previous school record in the 8K distance, which was set 16 years earlier by Rich Friedrich. The split is also Greenseich’s personal-best time in the distance by more than 20 seconds.

Men’s cross country will resume its season after an off week when it travels to Glassboro, N.J. for the Rowan Interregional Border Battle on Saturday, Oct. 15.
