Emily Ross of the women’s swimming and diving was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 29.
Ross won two events and joined her teammates to help win a relay. In the 400-yard medley relay, the freshman swam the breaststroke portion of the race helping the team finish 4.91 seconds ahead of the next swimmer.
The Wilmington, Del. native dominated in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing the race with a time of 2:25.91. The next swimmer finished in 2:49.77, almost 30 seconds after had Ross touched the wall.
In her final race of the meet, Ross edged out her Potsdam opponent winning the 200-yard breaststroke by .02 seconds.
Women’s swimming and diving returns to the pool at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, as they travel to Erie Community College for the SUNYAC Championships.
