Mykelle Krecko of the men’s basketball team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 5, 2017.

During Friday’s win against Potsdam, Krecko had a game-high 15 rebounds doubling the next closest player on both sides. The senior center also scored seven points on 3-for-5 shooting from the field.

On Saturday, in the team's 77-75 Senior Day victory against Plattsburgh, the Peekskill, N.Y. native set a new career-high with 18 rebounds. He totaled 33 during the course of the weekend. The big man also scored 11 points in the game giving him his sixth double-double of the season.

Krecko also swatted six shots in Saturday’s game. This puts him in the top 10 in the country in blocks (64) and blocks per game (3.05).

Men’s basketball returns to action Friday at 5:30 p.m. as they travel to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils.
