OSWEGO, N.Y. – Courtney Ameele of the women’s basketball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 14.

Ameele led the Lakers in points in both conference games they played over the weekend, first tying for a team-high with 14 in Oswego's 58-44 win over Potsdam on Friday. The senior also picked up five rebounds and three assists against the Bears.

On Saturday, Amelee not only led the Lakers in points (16), but in assists (6) and steals (4) as well. The Palmyra native is averaging a team-high 15.9 points this season.

Amelee and the women’s basketball team will return to action at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday when they host the New Paltz Hawks.
