OSWEGO, N.Y. - Toni Laneve of the women’s lacrosse team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on March 5. With eight points in the Lakers’ season opener against Morrisville State, Laneve’s production helped Oswego earn a convincing 18-7 win.

    Scoring her first goal of the campaign off of a free position shot, the Syracuse, N.Y. native’s conversion made the score 4-1 before adding another goal less than five minutes later off an assist from teammate Brigid Regin.

    Laneve tacked on two assists before the half, bringing the game to 9-1 at the whistle. Following halftime, the junior was not finished with Morrisville, adding a hat-trick while providing another assist on the way to an 11-goal victory.

    Next, Oswego and Laneve face off against the Rochester Institute of Technology at 4 p.m. on Monday, at Laker Turf Stadium in Oswego, N.Y.
