Oswego, N.Y. -- Thomas Osborn - of the men’s soccer team - has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 2. The senior had the game-winning goal in double overtime during Friday’s game against Morrisville.

Osborn’s goal came with less than two minutes remaining in the final overtime period off of a Hassan Musa corner kick. The captain’s kick put the ball in the upper-left 90, just out of the keeper’s reach.

The goal is the second-career goal for the Clifton Park, N.Y. native who spends his time anchoring the defense. During his four seasons with Oswego, the defender has appeared in 37 games, while tallying six shots-on-goal.

Osborn and the Lakers return to action at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday as they host the Hamilton College Continentals.
