OSWEGO, N.Y. - Travis Broughman - of the men's ice hockey team - was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 10. 

Broughman netted three goals over the weekend for the Lakers; one in Friday night’s win at Brockport and two against No. 2/2 Geneseo in Saturday’s 4-4 tie.

The Mechaniscville, Va. native scored for the second time this season against Brockport, this one unassisted, in the 3-0 shutout victory on Friday.

The freshman’s first period goal Saturday, which tied the game at 1-1, ended Geneso goalie Devin McDonald’s scoreless streak at 258:49, the fourth longest streak in NCAA Division III history. He scored another three and a half minutes later, ultimately helping Oswego end the Knights 17-game win streak.

Broughman and the Lakers finish the regular season with two road contests, facing off with Potsdam at 7 p.m. on Friday night before taking on archrival Plattsburgh on Saturday at the same time.
