OSWEGO, N.Y. – Charlie Grygas - of the wrestling team - has been named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 21.

Over the weekend, the Delanson native earned a New York State individual wrestling Championship with his victory in the 174-pound weight class.  Grygas won by fall in just 33 seconds in his first match and then took an 11-1 major decision in the quarterfinal round.  With a pair of nationally ranked wrestlers left in the semifinal and final, he won with a 6-3 decision and a 6-4 sudden victory finish for the title.  

At the conclusion of the event, Grygas was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler by the coaches for his performance.

The wrestling team gets a weekend off for Thanksgiving before heading over to the 55^th Annual RIT Invitational on Dec. 4 with a 9:30 a.m. start time.
