OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State Athletics has announced their September Oswego Health Athletes of The Month. The athletes that have been chosen for their success in their respective sports are Ellie Decker of Women’s Cross Country and Kieran Gilroy of Men’s Soccer. 

Ellie Decker has continued to be a force for the Lakers in her junior season. Decker has finished top ten on three separate occasions this month alone. On September 2nd, Decker finished 9th overall out of 87 racers in the Le Moyne Invitational with a time of 16:08.2. Exactly a week later, the Silver Creek, NY native placed 4th overall out of 68 total racers in the Tom Balon Alumni Classic at Brockport. In their third and final race of the month, Decker took 2nd place overall in the Fredonia Kara Hall Memorial XC Invitational with a time of 23:36.5. 72 participants took part in this race. Decker is out to a hot start and looks to continue the trend into October with Houghton on October 7th, Canisius College on October 15th and SUNYAC’s on October 28th.
