Brandi Lusk was hired by Oswego in 2007 to coach the field hockey and women's lacrosse teams.
Oswego State Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Brandi Lusk led the Lakers to one of its most successful seasons in program history in 2016. The squad finished with a 12-4 record, tying a program-record for single-season victories, which was originally set in 1997 and tied in 2000. Oswego earned a spot in the SUNYAC Championship for the first time since 2005 – on the heels of upsetting then-No. 9 Brockport 13-12 in the regular-season finale – nabbing the No. 4 seed. In their first round matchup, the Lakers defeated No. 5 Potsdam 21-10 for the program’s first conference tournament win since 2001. The team ranked in the top 50 in several national statistical categories, including being eighth in both assists per game (8.31) and points per game (22.81). Lusk helped guide six student-athletes to All-SUNYAC recognition, including Teresa Shattuck being named the conference’s Rookie of the Year. Three of those honorees went on to garner All-Empire Region accolades from the IWLCA, including the nation’s leader in assists per game, Erannan Shattuck (3.31).
A native of East Springfield, NY, Lusk attended Herkimer County Community College, where she was a part of three National Junior College Athletic Association women's lacrosse tournament teams as a player and a coach. She was a member of the school's inaugural women's lacrosse program which sported a 3-5 record in its debut season.
She graduated from Herkimer with an associate's degree in Science in Physical Education, named the school's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a SUNY Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete, and garnered a spot on
Who's Who of American Junior College Students.
Lusk received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in May 2007 from SUNY Cortland and earned her master's degree in Science and Education from SUNY Cortland.
