The Oswego State women's soccer team scored the lone goal of the second half to earn 2-2 tie with visiting Fredonia on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the South Athletic Complex.
The Lakers (2-5-2, 1-3-1 SUNYAC) tied the game in 24:44 remaining in regulation as Maureen Kasperek (Fulton) converted on a penalty kick.
The teams then stayed tied through the rest of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes.
Buffalo State (6-4-2, 2-2-1 SUNYAC) opened the scoring as Jessica Weiser (Rochester) scored on assist from Amy Debarbieri (Portville). That goal was scored 28:30 into the opening half.
Oswego State tied the game as Ariana Cuadrano (Holley) netted her first goal of the season on a feed from Lynn Halloran (Ellicottville).
The Bengals regained the lead just over two minutes later as Abbey Saxby (Ontario) drilled a shot into the upper corner of the net from just outside of the Laker penalty area.
Both Oswego State goalie and Ashley Distin (Fulton) and Buffalo State's Brianna Falvey (Chittenango) finished with three saves apiece.
Oswego State will play a non-conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 5, hosting Clarkson at 4 p.m.
