Three Lakers honored in tournament win at Plattsburgh

Three Oswego State men's basketball players were honored as the Lakers claimed the title at the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic over the weekend.

Nicholas Perioli (Liverpool) was tabbed as the Most Valuable Player as the sophomore guided the Lakers to a pair of wins. Oswego State opened the tournament with a 74-53 win over York College as Perioli led all scorers with 20 points. He connected on 4-of-5 3-pointers and also contributed with six rebounds and six steals. In the championship game against Plattsburgh, Perioli again turned in a balanced effort with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Ahmad Mims (Syracuse) and Ben Oliver (Batavia) were also recognized being named to the All-Tournament Team. Mims scored 15 points and had seven rebounds in the win over York and then netted 16 points versus the Cardinals. Oliver started the tournament scoring 18 points and then contributed 14 in the title game.

Oswego State (2-0) returns to the court on Tuesday, Nov. 30, hosting SUNY Athletic Conference opponent Geneseo at 8 p.m.
