The Oswego State field hockey team defeated visiting Hamilton College 4-2 on Wednesday, September 15th at the South Athletic Complex. The Lakers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and cruised the rest of the way to gain their first victory of the 2004 season. Oswego State is now 1-4 on the year while Hamilton drops to 0-2.

Megan Erlenback (Canastota) tallied the first two goals of the contest with the first coming just 2:30 into the game. Picking up an assist on Erlenback's opening goal was junior
Allie Ross (Suffern). Erlenback notched her second goal of the game as she scored unassisted at the 9:43 mark of the first half. Hamilton cut the lead in half as Natalie Schwerin (Oyster Bay, NY) scored with just under seven minutes left in the opening period. Amy Barrows (Grandby, CT) picked up an assist on the Continentals first goal.
Oswego State increased the lead early in the second half as
Shari Przybyla (Lockport) scored unassisted.
Kyrsten Perry (Hopewell Junction) put the Lakers ahead 4-1 with Ross gaining her second assist of the game. Katelyn McGee (Mamaroneck) tallied for Hamilton with just under a minute to go to complete the scoring.
Sophomore Kaitlin Daniels (Sag Harbor) made 12 saves for the Lakers while Polly Noble (New York) and Erin Weinstock (Pennington, NJ) turned away 2 shots each for Hamilton.
The Lakers return to the road on Saturday traveling to Union College for a 1 p.m. start.
