The Oswego State women's soccer team scored late in the second half to earn a 1-1 tie against the University of Rochester on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the South Athletic Complex.
The Lakers are now 2-4-1 on the year, while the Yellowjackets are 3-1-2.
Rochester opened the scoring 14:39 into the second half as Emily Urbanczyk (Williamsville) cashed in on a short pass from Anne McMahon (Clay).
Oswego State forced overtime as Morgan Vrydaghs (Campbell Hall) broke in on the Rochester net and slipped a shot past the Yellowjacket keeper. That goal came with 13:21 left in the second half.
The teams then battled through a pair of 10-minute overtimes to end the game knotted at a goal apiece.
Ashley Distin (Fulton) made seven saves for the Lakers, while Adrienne Hulchanski (Camillus) had two for Rochester.
The Lakers will be home this weekend for a pair of SUNY Athletic Conference games starting with Buffalo State on Friday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. Oswego State will then take on Fredonia on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m.
