The Oswego State field hockey team dropped its second consecutive game as the Lakers fell to visiting Rochester by the score of 4-0 on Saturday, September 4th at the South Athletic Complex.
The Yellowjackets (1-0) opened the scoring 3:37 into the game as Erin Charnow (Encinitas, CA) scored off of a penalty corner. Celinda Fletcher (Pittsford) and Kari Plewiak (Tonawanda) each earned assists on the play.
Krista Butler (Carmel) made it 2-0 later in the half before the Lakers had their best opportunity to climb back into the game.
Megan Erlenback (Canastota) was awarded a penalty stroke for Oswego State, but her shot hit the near post keeping the margin at two goals.
The University of Rochester added two more goals in the second half as Mary DiMatteo (Belmont, MA) netted both of them.
Oswego State goalie Kaitlin Daniels (Sag Harbor) finished with 15 saves.
In goal for the Yellowjackets, Rachel Cahan (Evanston, IL) had three stops.
The Lakers will be home again on Wednesday, September 8th hosting Ithaca College at 4 p.m.
