The Oswego State men's team continued its strong run at Laker Hall as the Lakers earned a 71-51 win over Oneonta on Friday, Jan. 21. The win brought the Lakers to a solid 13-2 overall and 5-2 in SUNYAC play. Taking the loss, the Red Dragons fell to 6-9 overall and 2-5 in SUNYAC play.
Going 6-for-15 from the field,
Dave Ponza (Solvay) also nabbed four rebounds. Ponza and
Nick Perioli (Liverpool) lead all scorers with 16 points each.
The Red Dragons were led by Anthony Negreanu (Woodside). Negreanu had 14 points, five rebounds and two assists in the losing effort.
The Lakers led from the 12:53 mark in the first half, never relinquishing and leading by as many as 23 in the second stanza. The Red Dragons went just 5-22 from three point land for the game, shooting only 23%.
Oswego State's next game is at Laker Hall on Jan. 22 against Cortland. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
