The Oswego State women's basketball team won in terrific fashion, defeating the visiting Red Dragons of Oneonta by a score of 93-84 in quadruple overtime.
The Lakers were led by
Kelly Mraz (Johnstown) who played an astounding 59 of 60 minutes. The sophomore finished the game with a game high 37 points, 12 assists and five rebounds, recording her second double-double of the season. Ten of Mraz?s season high 37 points came in the fourth OT, securing the win.
Ann Marie Faia (Yonkers) lead the Red Dragons with 20 points on the night, playing 45 minutes and clutching five boards.
Both
Sarah Lombard (Saratoga Springs) and
Jessica Tremblay (Albany) finished with team-leading ten rebounds for Oswego State, securing the ball at critical junctures in multiple overtimes.
Oneonta?s Noreen Naughton (Mineola) led all rebounders with 12 boards.
The win brought the Lakers to 12-1 over all and 6-1 in SUNY Athletic Conference play. The Red Dragons fell to 11-3 on the season and 5-2 in the SUNYAC. The meeting was the first of two scheduled regular-season encounters, as these two teams will play again at Oneonta on Feb. 12.
Oswego State will be right back in action on Saturday, Jan. 22, hosting Cortland at 6 p.m.
