Lakers beat Plattsburgh for 20th win

The Oswego State women's basketball team earned its 20th win of the season behind a strong defensive effort as the Lakers defeated visiting Plattsburgh by the score of 55-38 on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Laker Hall.
Oswego State is now 20-2 on the season, marking only the second time in school history they have hit the 20-win plateau. The team is now two wins shy of tying the school record for wins in a season with 22, set last year. Oswego State also remains in first place in the SUNY Athletic Conference with a 13-2 mark.
With the loss, the Cardinals dipped to 10-13 overall and 5-9 in the conference.
Defensively, the Lakers held Plattsburgh to only 29 percent shooting from the floor and forced 26 turnovers.
On the offensive end of the court, 11 different players scored for Oswego State with Jessica Tremblay and Lacey Kimpland (Fulton) the only two hitting in double figures. Tremblay had a game-high 11 points and Kimpland chipped in with 12.
For Plattsburgh, Lynette Cray (Buffalo) scored six points.
The Lakers will back in action on Friday, Feb. 18, taking on Russell Sage in a non-conference game. Tip off is at 7 p.m. at Laker Hall. The team will then hit the road for the season finale at Buffalo State on Saturday, Feb. 19.
