The Oswego State women's basketball team scored a season high Saturday evening as they defeated visiting SUNYIT 108-56.
The game featured another milestone as sophomore Samantha Driscoll tied a school record of eight three-pont baskets in a game. Driscoll joins current assistant coach Sally Shuster '05 and alum Christine Roth '02 for a share of the school record.
Oswego wasted little time in jumping all over the visiting Wildcats. The Lakers won the opening tip, scored the first basket of the game and never relinquished the lead. At intermission, Oswego led by 38 and kept up the fast-paced scoring frenzy in the second half.
Driscoll led the way for the Lakers with 26 points and two assists. She was 8-for-18 from beyond the arc, 9-for-20 total. Fellow sophomore Sarah Lombard had 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks, while junior Jessica Tremblay contributed 10 points and nine rebounds. Junior Kelly Mraz had a busy night, dishing out 12 assists and four points to help the Lakers dismantle the Wildcats defense.
The Lakers, now 8-4, will next travel to Buffalo State Tuesday, with game time set for 6 p.m.
