The Oswego frontcourt of
Sarah Lombard (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) and
Jessica Tremblay (Colonie/Colonie) combined for 27 points and 21 rebounds as the Lakers (9-4, 5-1 SUNYAC) defeated Buffalo State (5-9/2-3), 54-43 Jan. 17 in a SUNYAC contest at the Sports Arena in Buffalo.
Oswego overcame an early 10-4 deficit to take a 23-19 advantage into the intermission. Oswego never trailed in the second half, leading by as many as 17, before cruising to the 11-point win. The Lakers shot 40.4 percent from the field, compared to just 28.3 percent shooting by Buffalo State.
Lombard paced the Lakers with 19 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Tremblay added eight points and 12 boards, and Kelly Mraz (Johnstown/Johnstown) had 11 points and two assists.
The Lakers will travel to New Paltz Friday, with a 6 p.m. start time.
