Oswego State beat Buffalo State 6-4 on Friday on the road.
Francois Gagnon and C.J. Thompson scored goals early in the third period that proved to be decisive in the victory. Thompson had two goals and an assist in the game, and senior captain Jocelyn Dubord also had three points on a goal and two assists.
Ryan Ellis and Matt Whitehead had the other Laker goals, and Ryan Scott made 28 saves.
The Bengals struck first, 7:29 into the first period, but Whitehead's goal assisted by Thompson and Garren Reisweber evened the score just 45 seconds later. Buffalo State went ahead again but the Lakers scored two goals in a span of 1:18 to take a 3-2 lead.
Dubord's goal early in the second gave the Lakers a 4-2 lead, but the Bengals knotted the score with two quick-strike goals as Greg Prybylski and Sean O'Connell tallied 44 seconds apart. The game was tied 4-4 going into the third period when Thompson and Gagnon came through for the Lakers.
Reisweber, a Buffalo native, had two assists in the game.
