Lyndsey Marquit scored a game-high 19 points off the bench to help lead SUNY Oswego to a 71-47 non-conference win against Hamilton College at Scott Field House in Clinton on Jan. 7.
Marquit also had five steals as the Lakers (5-4 overall) helped force 33 Hamilton turnovers by making 18 steals. Junior Lacey Kimpland (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) tossed in 17 points. Kimpland leads Oswego with 15.7 points per game. Sophomore Sarah Lombard added ten points and junior Jessica Tremblay led all rebounders with nine.
Sophomore Jess Barrows was the Continentals' lone scorer in double figures with 12. Barrows handed out three assists. Freshman Sydney Fasulo '09 grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Hamilton (3-5) led just once at 16-15 on a layup by senior Jessie Pisegna '06 with 10:11 left in the first half. The Lakers then scored the next 11 points to take a 26-16 lead with 7:11 remaining. Kimpland had seven points during the run. Oswego went into the break with a 39-23 advantage.
The Continentals pulled within 12 points on a number of occasions in the second half, but didn't get the deficit under double digits the rest of the game. Hamilton still leads the all-time series, 15-6.
