Lakers lose in closing seconds

The Oswego State field hockey team lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to Nazareth on Tuesday afternoon, as the host Golden Flyers scored the game-winning goal with four seconds remaining in the game.

Oswego State trailed 1-0 for most of the game as Nazareth's Kelly Flanagan scored in the 14th minute. A late equalizer for the Lakers gave them hope. Kaylee Voorhies scored with 4:32 left to play in the game on an assist from Ashley Demeo. That leveled the score at 1-1, but Nazareth won the game with four ticks left on the clock with a goal by Jodee Magistro.

Kaitlin Daniels had seven saves for the Lakers.

The Lakers are now 3-13 on the season and conclude their year with a home game against Ithaca on Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m.
