The Oswego State men's ice hockey team, ranked fourth nationally, defeated Buffalo State 3-1 on Saturday night at the Campus Center Ice Arena in Oswego.
The Lakers have won all eight of their games this season, and are 4-0-0 in the SUNYAC.
Sophomore forward Brendan McLaughlin scored a pair of power-play goals for the Lakers, and finished the weekend with eight points in two games. He leads the team with 15 points on the season. Neil Musselwhite opened the scoring for Oswego State just 2:07 into the game. McLaughlin's extra-man tallies gave the Lakers a 3-0 lead, but Buffalo State scored 14 seconds after Oswego State's third goal to reduce the deficit to two goals.
Paul Michael Rivest scored for the Bengals, and it was all of the scoring in the game.
Buffalo State goalie Sean Sheehan had 39 saves, and Oswego State's Chris Hyk made 12 saves to earn his second victory of the year.
Buffalo State is 3-6-0, and 2-2-0 in the SUNYAC.
